What is TheSoloist?
TheSoloist is the studio. Each product is a soloist — a master designer, artist or architect invited to perform a single, definitive piece under the TheSoloist brand. The studio curates; the soloist creates.
We make functional artwork sculpted by technology. Our objects are not gadgets, and they are not decoration. They are tools that hold cultural weight, sculpted with the rigor of architecture and the breath of art. Technology is the medium; art is the verdict.
The first soloist was Takahiro Miyashita — Japanese designer behind Number (N)ine and TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. He shaped Soloist No.001 as a tribute to the New York Flatiron Building: a 110cm speaker that looks like a fragment of cracked concrete and sounds like a 2000-watt orchestra. Future soloists will sculpt refrigerators, desktop audio, cigar humidors. Each, a solo.
We stand at the edge of a glowing horizon, where circuits hum and dreams take form. This is not the end of art, but its evolution — a new pulse, a new breath, a new dawn.
